Adult Basic Education Society (ABES) was founded by Vincent A. David in 1971. It has been registered with the Government under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and with the Central Board of Revenue, Islamabad as a non-profit organization.
Adult Basic Education Society (ABES) was founded by Vincent A. David in 1971. It has been registered with the Government under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and with the Central Board of Revenue, Islamabad as a non-profit organization.
ABES works in collaboration with the government. It has been working on several initiatives along with UNICEF, including Child-friendly Schools, Joyful learning, Multi-grade teaching, and have worked in different provinces. ABES won a Gold medal by PTV for best presentation of 156 adult Literacy Programs for 6 years 1975-1980. In 1984, ABES pocketed the Honorable Mention Award and the NADEZHDAK KRUPSKAYA prize in 1991 from UNESCO Paris on International Literacy Day.
What we do
ABES has a vast experience of project planning, field implementation, monitoring, capacity building, teacher training, material development related to ECE, primary formal and non-formal education, adult literacy (functional), teaching of core subjects including Math, English, Urdu etc.
